Q: When do I get my locker?
A: Paulding doesn’t have lockers on campus, except in the PE locker room for PE clothes only.

Q: When do we find out about our electives?
A: You get one elective and you will find out when you pick up your schedule at Patriot Day.

A: Some will be all year, some are a semester long. Make sure you take your time to complete the
elective card and make your selection based on your interests. Paulding does the best they can to
give everyone their first or second selection!

Q: Where will the bus pick me up?
A: Go to luciamarschools.org → Parents & Students → Transportation → Schedules. Pay for bus
pass/call to purchase a bus pass.

Q: Are all of the teachers nice?
A: Middle school teachers are special people and it takes a special person to work with middle
schoolers...our teachers love middle schoolers. Most of you will have 6 teachers, and they
each have hundreds of kids.
Middle School Advice:
1. Stay organized
2. Don’t fall behind, communicate with teachers
3. Advocate for yourself - don’t wait for your teacher to track you down, because they have
~180 students. Teachers won’t nag you in middle school!

A: Lucia Mar's District Policy is Powered OFF & Put Away. Cell phones are to be totally, completely, 100%
powered off from the moment you arrive on campus to when you leave at 2:18pm. EVERY SINGLE
DAY.

- It shouldn’t be on silent or on vibrate. You should not be getting messages to or from others
during school hours ….even from parents. - Parents should call the office with messages
- Recommended plan: set a phone alarm to remind you to turn it off before you get on campus!
- If you are caught on your cell phone, you will meet with the Assistant Principal for discipline.
- For your first offense, you get a warning but if you continue to have your phone on/out you may have to check
your phone in and out of the front office during school hours.

A: We have a variety of food options for lunch and breakfast. On Mondays breakfast is served in
the cafeteria and Tuesday - Friday breakfast is served in the advisory class period. Lunch is
served in the cafeteria during lunch time.

Q: What supplies do I need for the first day?
A: A pen, a pencil, and a paper. Don’t bring a lot. Teachers will have textbooks to send home so
that you don’t have to take your books home with you.

Q: PE?!
A: We have an awesome PE team. PE is daily. You’ll get a great workout. There are separate
locker rooms. A combination lock is provided by your PE teacher. PE activities include: running,
sit-ups, jump rope, golf, basketball, volleyball, baseball, frisbee, badminton, etc.

$10 for the shirt and $10 for the shorts. They can be purchased from a PE teacher, or at Patriot Day.

A: Basketball, Cross-Country, Volleyball, Track & Field, Soccer, and Color Guard. Our daily bulletin will keep students informed about when try-outs for each team are. There is a GPA requirement to try-out and be on a team.
